This square footage calculator helps you determine the area of a space using one of four common shapes. You can add multiple areas together to measure irregularly shaped rooms, yards, or properties.
Rectangle: Area = Length x Width. Enter dimensions in feet and inches for precise measurements. This is the most common shape for rooms and buildings.
Circle: Area = pi x r². Enter either the radius or diameter of the circle in feet. Useful for circular patios, pools, or garden beds.
Triangle: Area = 1/2 x Base x Height. Enter the base length and the perpendicular height in feet. Useful for triangular sections of land or architectural features.
Trapezoid: Area = 1/2 x (Side A + Side B) x Height. Enter the two parallel sides and the perpendicular distance between them. Useful for lots and rooms that are wider on one end than the other.
